IN MEMORIAM

While I was looking for Astatics, I ran across this little gem below.  Its a Brush Development Company BR2S.  I just managed to clean it up a bit and quickly wire a temporary plug to it to see if it worked.  So, you can see that the collar isn't attached to the element.  The BR2S was manufactured in 1938 and sold for $30.  Its advanced styling was certainly far ahead of its time and clearly is the granddaddy to the rock and roll Shure microphone made famous by Roger Daultry of the WHO who swung it around his head in a wide arc.

Here you can see the crystal element which was designed to float inside the cage using its own connections as the suspension device.  So, I hooked it up and voila...it works!  Sounds pretty good too!
